In soap-making, the process of cutting the blocks of soap, which have solidified in frames, into slabs which are afterward cut transversely into bars. A loop of wire is used and drawn through the block by hand, or a special slabbing-machine is applied.

Adapted for forming slabs, or for dressing flat surfaces.
