A pyrimidine base, C₅H₆N₂O₂, that is an essential constituent of DNA.

A colorless crystalline compound, C₅H₆N₂O₂, prepared by the action of dilute sulphuric acid on thymic acid. It may also be obtained synthetically. It sublimes in plates and melts above 250° C. Also called 5-methyluracil.

A base, C5H6N2O2, obtained by applying sulphuric acid to thymic acid; it pairs with adenine in DNA.
