windgall

A defect in a timber or log, due to an old wound caused by the breaking of a limb, commonly by a wind.

Distension of the synovial bursa at the fetlock-joint of the horse, such as may be felt on each side of the tendons behind the joint. Also called puff.

Same as wind-dog.

A soft tumor or synovial swelling on the fetlock joint of a horse; — so called from having formerly been supposed to contain air.

A puffy, typically fluid filled sac located just above the fetlock joint on a horse. Generally appearing on old or poorly kept horses.
